This was of sentimental value to the client and had been used for homework during the 1960’s. It had fallen into disrepair and had been missing legs since he knew it. The bureau was stripped of the old surface finish, repairs carried out, new legs fitted and then refinished in a modern lacquer. The transformation was quite dramatic and although I do not have photos of it in it’s original condition the client was dumbstruck when he saw it restored.
