This chair had been inherited by the client and was in very poor condition. The surface finish was in a perished condition with the cane back damaged and the cushion almost threadbare. The old cane work was removed and the surface finish stripped. Some repairs were then made to the frame before refinishing it in a subtle brown toned hardwax oil. The chair was then professionally caned. The original sprung seat cushion was renovated and then upholstered.

Set of 4 1960’s Ercol chairs
This is a set of Ercol Quaker style dining chairs from the 1960’s. They were finished in a very dark stain and lacquer which had become damaged over time. They were all stripped and prepared for refinishing. They were then lacquered in a clear lacquer that enhanced the figuring of the wood. -
