The chairs were in a  poor state with nearly all the joints detached or broken. They were all repaired. The table was marked and the lacquer surface worn. This was stripped. The table and chairs were the re-lacquered.

I was so very fortunate to discover Ian Wall’s service; he stripped and relacquered a 1940s Danish teak dining table and chairs; the whole set looks factory new. I am astonished and delighted with the gorgeous and careful restoration; I certainly did not expect the table and chairs to look as good as they do now. Ian Wall provided a prompt and accurate assessment of what needed to be done, and accomplished a miracle, even within the time period stated. Very professional, courteous and reliable.

The dining set was very important to me, its size and style perfectly suited the lounge; but showed a lot of wear and discoloration from years of my DIY attempts. The table top was scratched, there were black marks from moisture, overall wear and discoloration; a muddy uneven sticky texture and tone (I had followed the directions of the hardware shop and videos on how to strip and recoat with Teak Oil, this simply degenerated over time into mud and brown discoloration. I had also used a spray that simply attracted dirt). The chair slats started to separate, and so I had again regularly used the hardware stores recommended wood glue, which didn’t solve the problem and also had consequences. The whole set was quite a mess which was a shame.

After Ian Wall’s restoration, the table surface is a perfect, uniform, glowing original color, the marks, scratches and discoloration are gone, and the chairs too are solid and gorgeous.
